Snow Storm kills at least 16 in the USA and Canada

The snow and cold rain that hit the central region of the United States and Canada have left at least 16 dead in the region since the end of the week. Many were due to traffic accidents on roads.

The climate has already led to the cancellation of many flights at airports in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Toronto. The rain also caused damage to the electrical network leaving 20,500 homes without light in the night of Saturday.

The weather service forecast snow for the American northeast, while the cold rain or hail to reach New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In Canada should have about 40 cm of snow and strong winds, mainly in the regions of Ottawa and Montreal.

The bad weather is caused by an intense depression from the Colorado, which reached the Great Lakes region and should turn to the northeast of the United States in the coming hours.
